About project

This project has the main goal to reduce E-waste in Europe by working on already existing E-waste, developing new tooling to extend lifetime and recyclability of E-waste, deploy at European level the new best practices and more importantly to develop a strong European ecosystem in this domain. Since the best way to lower the e-waste production is to minimise the volume of new ecomponents, IMA will focus on techniques to maximise the system and component lifetime with regards to embedded firmware long-life feature introduction, battery and thermal management features enhancements and modular firmware component architecture  analysis.

IMA will study relevant strategies focusing on complexity and BOM (bill of material) reduction. IMA will observe and cooperate on partners´ UTIA and TUL’s activities, focusing on SotA and existing standardisation in the field of green electronics, EU planned repairability regulations, and good practice recommendations from project partners.

IMA will utilize the knowledge gained within the EECONE project for its internal development processes and also for WITTE volume production development and related optimisation processes.
